West Virginia CME/CE Requirements
(3) hours of Board-approved CME in drug diversion and best practices prescribing of controlled substances during each reporting period (for physicians who have prescribed, administered, or dispensed any controlled substance in any jurisdiction in the two year license cycle preceding renewal).
(8) hours on treating and managing patients with opioid or other substance use disorders, including the appropriate clinical use of all FDA-approved drugs for the treatment of a substance use disorder. This is a one-time requirement for all DEA-registered practitioners (with the exception of DVM-only license holders), beginning with DEA initial or renewal registrations starting June 27, 2023.

(3) hours of CE in drug diversion training, best-practice prescribing of controlled substances training and training on prescribing and administration of an opioid antagonist (if you prescribe, administer or dispense controlled substances; required within 1 year of receiving initial license from the Board).
(8) hours on treating and managing patients with opioid or other substance use disorders, including the appropriate clinical use of all FDA-approved drugs for the treatment of a substance use disorder.
