What do primary care providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) need to know about caring for patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD)? Primary care providers (PCPs) are well positioned to spot the earliest signs of cognitive decline — and patients are more likely to discuss sensitive topics, such as cognitive concerns, with a provider they know and trust. This engaging activity will provide you with the latest information regarding the role of PCPs in early diagnosis of AD, approaches to address racial and ethnic barriers to dementia-related care, and strategies to encourage collaboration among PCPs and AD specialists.
