Jill Jin, MD, MPH

Dr. Jill Jin is a practicing internist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, a Senior Physician Advisor for Professional Satisfaction & Practice Sustainability at the American Medical Association (AMA), and an associate editor for JAMA. She completed her MD and MPH training at Northwestern University and her residency training in internal medicine at UCLA-Olive View Medical Center. She completed an editorial fellowship with JAMA before becoming an Associate Editor in 2014 and started her primary care practice at Northwestern in 2015. Dr Jin has published over 140 patient education pages in JAMA. Since 2016, Dr. Jin has worked with the AMA in combating physician burnout, which has unfortunately become, in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the largest crises that US health systems are facing today. Dr. Jin works with healthcare leaders around the country to develop and share strategies for practice improvement and redesign. She also co-hosts the AMA STEPS Forward™ podcast series on this topic. Dr. Jin is passionate about transforming primary care from the top-down to help clinicians get back to their true calling—taking care of patients.
