Biography
Dr. Hysell is Medical Director of the Mass General Brigham Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and a faculty member in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital. She cares for hospitalized and ambulatory patients with a clinical focus on antimicrobial stewardship and general infectious diseases. A dedicated clinician-educator, Dr. Hysell serves as Course Director for Mechanisms of Microbial Pathogenesis (HST.040) in the Harvard–MIT Health Sciences and Technology program, where she has led curricular innovation emphasizing case-based learning and the integration of basic science with clinical practice. She is also actively involved in mentoring infectious diseases fellows, internal medicine residents, and medical students. Dr. Hysell's research interests include novel therapies for nontuberculous mycobacterial infections and strategies to optimize antimicrobial stewardship across healthcare settings. Through her work in patient care, education, and research, she is committed to improving antimicrobial prescribing, enhancing patient outcomes, and training the next generation of infectious diseases physicians.
