Biography

Robert Hopkins, Jr., MD, MACP, FAAP is professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and serves as the Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine, Associate Program Director for the Med-Peds residency and since 2020 has also served as medical director for COVID testing and vaccination at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Hopkins’ primary academic interest is clinical vaccinology with emphasis on education and quality improvement. He has held a number of national and local leadership positions including current service as Chair of the National Vaccine Advisory Committee, and as a member of the Arkansas Department of Health Vaccine Medical Advisory Committee. Dr. Hopkins maintains board certification in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and continues an active teaching and clinical practice.
