Biography

Dr. Henry R. Herrera, Jr. is a board-certified Gastroenterologist and Department Chair at DHR Health, where he also serves on the DHR Health Governing Board of Directors and as Clinical Research Director for the DHR Health Institute for Research and Development. Dr. Herrera was raised in McAllen, Texas. He graduated from McAllen High School in 2002 and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Med Biology from the University of Texas Pan-American (UTRGV) in 2006. He went on to attend UT Southwestern Medical School, graduating in 2010, and completed his Gastroenterology fellowship in 2016.
