I am a pediatric gastroenterologist with a clinical interest in the care of children with complex nutritional challenges including micronutrient deficiencies, malnutrition and pediatric obesity. I have completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and nutrition at Boston Children’s Hospital and a post-graduate fellowship in advanced nutrition. I am the medical director of the Good Fit Adolescent Weight and Wellness Center at UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center. I enjoy working in multidisciplinary settings and collaborate frequently with members of our care team including pediatric dieticians and nurses. My research interests include understanding nutritional disorders which contribute to suboptimal child health and development, both in the US and abroad, including pediatric obesity, environmental enteric dysfunction and vitamin deficiencies. I am involved with several education initiatives at UMass Medical School to improve nutrition education in medical training.
