Biography

I am a physician trained in internal medicine clinically working inpatient and as a primary care doctor at Bellevue Hospital, part of the public hospital system in New York City (NYC-HHC). Since medical school, I have also obtained academic and research training in public health and global medicine. After residency, I completed a global health fellowship through the BIDMC-Botswana Harvard Partnership and spent six months living in Botswana providing clinical outpatient care, medical education for interns native to Botswana and running a district-wide hypertension medication reconciliation study. I returned to the US and completed a Masters in Public Health Sciences at University of Chicago in 2020 and continued global health systems and implementation science research in infectious disease, specifically HIV, and cardiovascular risk factors (e.g., hypertension, diabetes) in Botswana, India, and Kenya. I practice travel medicine both in my medical practice for immigrant populations at Bellevue Hospital and during time spent abroad in countries with endemic tropical illnesses.
