Biography

Peter Chen, MD, is Director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Assistant Medical Director of the Women’s Guild Lung Institute, Director of the Physician-Scientist Training Track Internal Medicine Training Program, and Director of Physicians in Doctoral Research at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He received his medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, before completing a residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Chen is board-certified in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care. Dr. Chen is on the editorial board for the American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology and is a reviewer for numerous scientific journals. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the American Society for Matrix Biology, and the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Dr. Chen is the leader of the Cedar-Sinai COVID-19 ICU Task Force, and his research interests include lung injury, pulmonary research, and lung fibrosis.
