COVID-19 Web Series Part 3: Important Information for Your Patients

In the third episode of Pri-Med’s weekly web series on COVID-19, faculty will discuss important information for clinicians to relay to their patients regarding COVID-19. They will review current recommendations around how patients should be instructed to protect themselves and high-risk family members, how to monitor symptoms when sick, and how to determine when it’s appropriate to end self-isolation.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe measures that patients should take to minimize the chance of getting COVID-19
  • Identify measures that should be taken to reduce household spread of COVID-19 when infected/potentially infected individuals are living in the house
  • Review the outpatient management of COVID-19 
  • Advise patients who have either tested positive or are presumed positive for COVID-19 on steps required to discontinue home isolation
