Biography

D. Michael Ready, MD, FAHS is a graduate of the Texas Tech College of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Brazos Valley Family Medicine Residency program in Bryan, Texas where he served as chief resident. After residency training, he joined Scott & White in Temple, Texas as a Senior Staff physician in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. In 2008, he transferred to the Department of Neurology to start a dedicated Headache clinic. In 2010 he became certified in Headache Medicine by the United Council of Neurological Subspecialties and was elevated to Fellow status by the American Headache Society. In 2014 he received the National Headache Foundation's Annual Lectureship award. In 2022 he received the American Headache Society's Above and Beyond award. He has presented across Texas and the country on headaches and their management. He is the co-author of "Discussing Migraines with Your Patients: A Common Sense Guide for Clinicians" which was published by Springer in 2017.
