Biography

My expertise is in interprofessional healthcare quality improvement and the implementation of best practices within clinical settings. I lead healthcare improvement education and training across Baylor College of Medicine and direct two federally funded national fellowship programs including the VA Quality Scholars (VAQS) program. The VAQS program, at 11 sites across North America, is the premier interprofessional leadership training program for healthcare improvement. VAQS fellows are post-residency physicians, post-doctoral nurses, clinical psychologists, pharmacists and other health professionals. Through these roles I train hundreds of clinicians annually in healthcare improvement. My research interests are in developing strategies to aid the implementation of best practices by frontline clinicians.
