Biography

Dr Crandall is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She completed her M.D. degree, her internal medicine residency, and her Master of Science in Clinical Research at UCLA. Dr Crandall has been on faculty at the Iris Cantor-UCLA Women’s Health Center at UCLA since 1995. In addition to providing clinical care, she supervises internal medicine residents at the Internal Medicine Suite outpatient clinic at UCLA. She frequently lectures to physicians and medical students regarding osteoporosis, menopause, and menopausal hormone therapy. She is Editor in Chief of the upcoming 6th edition of the North American Menopause Society’s textbook, "Menopause Practice: A Clinician’s Guide." She founded and served as course director for the "UCLA Controversies in Women’s Health", an annual CME course for 8 years. Her research is focused on the intersection of menopause, menopausal hormone therapy, and osteoporosis. Her most recent research focuses on osteoporosis screening strategies among postmenopausal women. She has authored more than 100 articles and book chapters. She serves on the editorial board of the journal Menopause and she is an editorial reviewer for multiple medical journals. She has participated in multiple committees for the North American Menopause Society including being chair of the Exam Committee and a Member of the Scientific Program, Abstract Review, and Education Committees.
